COSMOTE Romania launches today COSMOTE Scholarships program

COSMOTE Romania has always been an active supporter of the young generation, encouraging education and performance. Starting this year, the company will develop the social responsibility program COSMOTE Scholarships, through which will annually offer 5 national scholarships to ambitioned and talented young people, who are 12th grade graduates and were admitted in a superior education institution in Romania, regardless the profile, “without charge” category, day studies. Out of the five national scholarships, one will be given to the children of the employees within COSMOTE group of companies in Romania.
Through the program “COSMOTE Scholarships” launched today, COSMOTE Romania wishes to identify those young people who are talented and ambitioned, with very good school results and very clear career objectives, in order to support them financially during their university studies. The value of a scholarship is the equivalent in lei of 150 Euro/month, for nine months (October – June) per year, throughout the performance of the university studies.
“Through our social responsibility strategy, we choose to get involved in those areas where the society has the deepest need of support, focusing especially on the educational, social and environment issues. “COSMOTE Scholarships” program underlines once more our concern for developing the educational segment and supporting those young people who are really talentend and focused on obtaining the best results, thus contributing to a better future for the young generation”, stated Ruxandra Voda, Corporate Affairs Manager COSMOTE Romania.
The 2010 edition of “COSMOTE Scholarships” program will take place in the period September 15th – November 9th 2010 in two phases. The first phase, which is also eliminatory, will take place between 15 September and 15 October inclusive and implies filling and submitting a registration file. After the files will be analyzed, the candidates will participate in an interview before a specialized jury, based on which the winners of the scholarships will be established.
The jury who will analyze the papers and will interview the candidates is composed of COSMOTE Romania representatives and representatives from the Romanian business environment, who are also involved in the academic environment. Thus, the candidates will be evaluated by Irina Anghel, experienced lawyer in mergers and acquisitions, specialized in purchases made by private investment funds, but also University Lecturer at Faculty of Law within the Nicolae Titulescu University and Associate Professor at the MBA Programme developed by the “Bucharest School of Management” and at the “International Project Management” Master’s Programme; Liliana Danaila, Human Resources Director at COSMOTE Romania; Dan Petre, Managing Partener at D&D Research and Associate Professor at the SNSPA Faculty of Communication and Public Relations; Sorin Psatta, Integrated Communication Director at Graffiti BBDO Romania and Lecturer at the Journalism and Communication Faculty for the University from Bucharest; and Ruxandra Voda, Corporate Affairs Manager, COSMOTE Romania.
The registration files must be sent between September 15th – October 15th 2010, either by registered mail, at the address COSMOTE Romania, Corporate Affairs Department, America House Building, West Wing, 4-8 Nicolae Titulescu street, 1st district, Bucharest, or by e-mail at info [at] burselecosmote [dot] ro until October 15th 2010, 18.00 hour.
